This painting is a bold exploration of emotion, identity, and the interplay of contrasts. As the artist, I sought to deconstruct the human face into its raw, geometric essence, using color and form to evoke a visceral response. The face, divided into vibrant planes of red, green, and pale yellow, represents the duality and complexity of human emotion—passion, growth, and fragility. The asymmetry in the eyes and the stark black nose create a sense of unease, challenging the viewer to confront the imperfections and contradictions within themselves.

The brushstrokes are deliberate, following the contours of the face and body to add texture and movement, breathing life into the abstract composition. The background, split into red and green, mirrors the face’s color palette, creating harmony while emphasizing the figure’s centrality. The elongated neck and stylized shoulders stretch the boundaries of realism, inviting the viewer to see beyond the physical and into the emotional.
